2025 Photography Workshops
Colorado Fall Color - Small Group - Photo Workshop
October 2 thru October 5 2025 | Ridgway, CO

The area around Dallas Divide/Mt. Sneffels/Ridgway is arguably the most beautiful fall color location in the United States. The combination of beautiful fall foliage with towering European style crag peaks is a site to behold. We invite you to experience and capture the grand nature’s spectacle with the crew at American Photo Treks.
The best spots are spread out and not easy to find on your own, but don't worry, we will do all the driving. Let us take you on the scenic mountain roads to our favorite fall color photo sites and help you capture this splendor for yourself.
Let your creativity flow! Because we're a small group, you won't feel rushed or fell like you have to compete for your favorite composition. You'll also have two PPA Master photographers there to help with settings and composition suggestions.
Each day of your adventure will start by watching the sun rise and bathe our favorite sunrise locations in glorious warm light. After that we'll drive you to some places that are a little hard to get to and not always well known, but so worth the effort. We’ll shoot and talk photography all-day. Then end each day by capturing the gorgeous mountain sunsets from our prime locations. You will come home with fall color images you will be proud to share and print.

Itinerary / Logistics
We will meet at 3PM on October 2nd in the parking lot of the Twin Peaks Lodge in Ouray, CO. We'll get everybody checked into the hotel and then take off for evening shooting.
Each day we will leave the hotel well before sunrise to ensure we are in the best shooting spots for first light. We will continue shooting throughout the morning then take a mid-day break to eat, rest and conduct some post-processing sessions.

We will leave for our evening sessions mid-afternoon and continue photographing until blue hour light fades after sunset.
These are long days. Very early mornings and late nights, which is why it's important we rest up in the middle of the day.
These locations are hard to find and tough to navigate. But, don't worry American Photo Treks will do all the driving, so all you have to worry about is getting the perfect shot!
