We have several outstanding photographers on board offering affordable opportunities for excellent locations where you'll learn everything from landscape photography, night sky photography, and much more. The area around Hanksville Utah is a magical journey to another world. The landscape and light offer the most unique photo opportunities we’ve ever experienced. It is also one of the very best places in the US for DRONE photography!

This year American Photo Treks is offering a special, small-group adventure to this photographic wonderland. There is only room for six participants. That's two instructors to help you capture the best possible images. We are familiar with Sony, Canon and Nikon camera systems and DJI drone systems.

We will go to the most scenic locations at just the right times to capture these unique landscapes in the best possible light. Many of the roads require 4-wheel drive vehicles and by joining us, we'll be driving you around so you don't have to worry about whether or not your car will be able to traverse the remote roads.

The areas we will be visiting are EXCELLENT areas to fly drones. We highly recommend bringing a drone along on this workshop. If you just purchased your first drone, this workshop is an excellent way to get started. There are plenty of wide-open, drone friendly areas. Both Ken and Dave are FAA licensed and experienced drone pilots.

Lodging and food are not included in the workshop price. The Whispering Pines hotel is VERY affordable. Plus, there are two very affordable, nice campgrounds. We will be travelling during most mealtimes, so we will be carrying coolers to eat on-the-go.

American Photo Treks is approved and permitted by the Bureau of Land Management to conduct this workshop.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Due to the outlay of expenses prior to the workshop, once payment is made, no refunds can be given unless the workshop is cancelled. We strongly advise trip insurance to protect yourself in the event that unavoidable circumstances prevent you from making the trip.

Photographing New York City can create a classic and timeless look that showcases the city's architecture, streets, and people in a unique way.

There is a plethora of ideas and themes we will be using for photographing New York City. From its people and its architecture to the stories from the streets, the city with it's timeless theme is also ideal for unique black and white photography. If black and white isn't your thing, no worries. We'll be exploring the colors of the city as well. The Manhattan skyline at sunset from our New Jersey hotel can be quite the colorful scene.

We will be taking the city by foot. Walking amongst the citizens, feeling their energy and seeing the sights from their point of view will show us what it’s like to live and experience the Big Apple.

Jeff Johnson of Soul Road Trips, joins Ken and Dave to share with you stunning locations and awesome opportunities to create amazing stories from the streets. From the people to the cityscape itself, you will capture real images that are full of life with impact and emotion. You can't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity, can you?

Since you're likely a camera buff if you are joining us, we'll visit the photographer's mecca that is B&H Photo Video.

ARCHITECTURE
Manhattan has some of the world's most recognizable buildings, such as the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Freedom Tower and Oculus plus many other architectural wonders. You can photograph these buildings from different angles, using different compositions and lighting to create dramatic and striking images.

STORIES of the STREET
The streets of NYC are bustling with activity, and we suggest BW to capture that energy. Using a photojournalistic style for people on the streets captures candid moments and tells tales of these individual’s lives at those moments in time. BW imagery also showcases the diversity and vibrancy of the city and its peoples.

BRIDGES & THE WATERFRONT
Manhattan is surrounded by water, with bridges connecting it to other boroughs and cities. We will photograph DUMBO and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge or the lesser-known Manhattan Bridge, creating dramatic images of the city's infrastructure.

CENTRAL PARK
Central Park is an oasis in the middle of Manhattan, with beautiful landscapes, ponds, and bridges. You can capture the park's beauty with BW creating moody and atmospheric images that convey the park's tranquility. We will also capture the stories of its people as they walk, run, and relax in Central Park.

NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY
Manhattan's skyline is stunning at night. Capturing it in BW allows for the city’s stories to be revealed before our lenses. We’ll photograph the city from a high vantage point, such as a rooftop or a bridge, using long exposure times to capture the light trails of cars, the blur of constantly moving citizens and the city's energy.
